Soccer journalist Grant Wahl died after he collapsed during coverage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He was only 48.
The CBS Sports reporter collapsed minutes after tweeting during the extra time of Argentina versus Netherlands quarter-final on Friday.
Medics kept trying to revive him by doing CPR before an ambulance took him away.
“Times” journalist Josh Glancy was a witness to the collapse and has given poignant coverage.
He mentioned how despite the state-of-the-art stadium, there was no defibrillator to revive Wahl.
Grant's brother, Eric, feels this was not a natural death as he took to Instagram and asked any and all authorities for help.
Grant Wahl’s wife also expressed her shock and thanked all friends and family for their support.
Earlier, in his blog, Wahl wrote about going to a medical clinic in Qatar due to high stress.
U.S. Soccer and FIFA both noted Wahl's death in eulogies, saying he would be missed.
