Checkout Warriors Star Stephen Curry’s Message for Joe Biden After Bringing Brittney Griner Home From Russia
Stephen Curry thanked US President Joe Biden for helping to bring Brittney Griner home when the Golden State Warriors visited the White House as the 2021–22 NBA champions.
Curry, who took the microphone to address the media and those present for the annual Champs visit, praised Biden and his administration
for their "hard work and diligence" in securing Griner's release from a Russian prison and securing her return to the United States.
“It means a lot to know that she’s here and home safe with her family,” Curry said, via ABC News.
Remember that Brittney Griner was arrested and held in a Russian penal colony from February until December 2022
on drug possession and smuggling charges due to the fact that the WNBA star was found to be in possession of vape cartridges containing hashish oil.
Joe Biden and the US government were successful in negotiating a prisoner exchange with Russia, exchanging Griner for arms dealer Viktor Bout.
It also followed a flurry of appeals from NBA players and admirers, including Stephen Curry, to help Griner get out of jail.
